Scoring Too High

The illustrious Don Cherry has criticized the Canadian Women's Hockey Team for scoring too highly in the Olympics against European countries. What kind of inane crap is this? You're there to win, not make friends. So what if you slaughter some countries that can't play for shit. So you might hurt their feelings. Maybe they'll actually learn to play. Also there's clearly an advantage to doing this, so if they can, why not? How is it not sportsmanlike to do so? Some strange beliefs that some people in society hold baffle me.

From the Globe and Mail: "He was referring to Canada's 16-0 shellacking of host Italy to open the tournament Saturday, followed by a 12-0 victory over Russia on Sunday. ... Canada has outscored the opposition 36-1 over its three preliminary-round games, while the U.S. has an 18-3 advantage."
