Gilles Duceppe and Math

Today I was watching the news, and Gilles Duceppe had the funniest comment ever. He apparently was at some kind of event that benefitted from the federal sponsorship program, so he had to admit federal funding for sports and arts programs is good. And then he said one Canadian flag is okay. "There's a big difference between a thousand Canadian flags and one. That difference is exactly 999."
