Stupidest Email Ever

My mom forwarded the following email to me. I don't usually read, never mind forward them. But this one is cringe-worthy, wrong and stupid it just had to be put out there as a reason to not believe everything you read. Shameful, just shameful.

Especially stupid sections are bolded.

Johns Hopkins Update. Good article. ;

AFTER YEARS OF TELLING PEOPLE CHEMOTHERAPY IS THE ONLY WAY TO TRY ('TRY', BEING THE KEY WORD) TO ELIMINATE CANCER, JOHNS HOPKINS IS FINALLY STARTING TO TELL YOU THERE IS AN ALTERNATIVE WAY.

Cancer Update from Johns Hopkins:

1. Every person has cancer cells in the body. These cancer cells do not show up in the standard tests until they have multiplied to a few billion. When doctors tell cancer patients that there are no more cancer cells in their bodies after treatment, it just means the tests are unable to detect the cancer cells because they have not reached the detectable size.

2. Cancer cells occur between 6 to more than 10 times in a person's lifetime.

3 When the person's immune system is strong the cancer cells will be destroyed and prevented from multiplying and forming tumors.

4. When a person has cancer it indicates the person has multiple nutritional deficiencies. These could be due to genetic, environmental, food and lifestyle factors.

5. To overcome the multiple nutritional deficiencies, changing diet and including supplements will strengthen the immune system.

6. Chemotherapy involves poisoning the rapidly-growing cancer cells and also destroys rapidly-growing healthy cells in the bone marrow, gastrointestinal tract etc, and can cause organ damage, like liver, kidneys, heart, lungs etc.

7. Radiation while destroying cancer cells also burns, scars and damages healthy cells, tissues and organs.

8. Initial treatment with chemotherapy and radiation will often reduce tumor size.. However prolonged use of chemotherapy and radiation do not result in more tumor destruction.

9. When the body has too much toxic burden from chemotherapy and radiation the immune system is either compromised or destroyed, hence the person can succumb to various kinds of infections and complications.

10. Chemotherapy and radiation can cause cancer cells to mutate and become resistant and difficult to destroy. Surgery can also cause cancer cells to spread to other sites.

11. An effective way to battle cancer is to starve the cancer cells by not feeding it with the foods it needs to multiply.

CANCER CELLS FEED ON:

a.. Sugar is a cancer-feeder. By cutting off sugar it cuts off one important food supply to the cancer cells.. Sugar substitutes like NutraSweet, Equal, Spoonful, etc are made with Aspartame and it is harmful. A better natural substitute would be Manuka honey or molasses but only in very small amounts. Table salt has a chemical added to make it white in color. Better alternative is Bragg's aminos or sea salt.

b. Milk causes the body to produce mucus, especially in the gastro-intestinal tract. Cancer feeds on mucus. By cutting off milk and substituting with unsweetened soy milk cancer cells are being starved.

c. Cancer cells thrive in an acid environment. A meat-based diet is acidic and it is best to eat fish, and a little chicken rather than beef or pork. Meat also contains livestock antibiotics, growth hormones and parasites, which are all harmful, especially to people with cancer.

d. A diet made of 80% fresh vegetables and juice, whole grains, seeds, nuts and a little fruits help put the body into an alkaline environment. About 20% can be from cooked food including beans. Fresh vegetable juices provide live enzymes that are easily absorbed and reach down to cellular levels within 15 minutes to nourish and enhance growth of healthy cells. To obtain live enzymes for building healthy cells try and drink fresh vegetable juice (most vegetables including bean sprouts) and eat some raw vegetables 2 or 3 times a day. Enzymes are destroyed at temperatures of 104 degrees F (40 degrees C).

e. Avoid coffee, tea, and chocolate, which have high caffeine. Green tea is a better alternative and has cancer fighting properties. Water-best to drink purified water, or filtered, to avoid known toxins and heavy metals in tap water. Distilled water is acidic, avoid it.

12. Meat protein is difficult to digest and requires a lot of digestive enzymes. Undigested meat remaining in the intestines becomes putrefied and leads to more toxic buildup.

13. Cancer cell walls have a tough protein covering. By refraining from or eating less meat it frees more enzymes to attack the protein walls of cancer cells and allows the body's killer cells to destroy the cancer cells.

14.. Some supplements build up the immune system (IP6, Flor-ssence, Essiac, anti-oxidants, vitamins, minerals, EFAs etc.) to enable the bodies own killer cells to destroy cancer cells. Other supplements like vitamin E are known to cause apoptosis, or programmed cell death, the body's normal method of disposing of damaged, unwanted, or unneeded cells.

15... Cancer is a disease of the mind, body, and spirit. A proactive and positive spirit will help the cancer warrior be a survivor. Anger, un-forgiveness and bitterness put the body into a stressful and acidic environment. Learn to have a loving and forgiving spirit. Learn to relax and enjoy life.

16. Cancer cells cannot thrive in an oxygenated environment. Exercising daily, and deep breathing help to get more oxygen down to the cellular level. Oxygen therapy is another means employed to destroy cancer cells.

1.. No plastic containers in micro.

2. No water bottles in freezer.

3. No plastic wrap in microwave.

Johns Hopkins has recently sent this out in its newsletters. This information is being circulated at Walter=2 0Reed Army Medical Center as well. Dioxin chemicals cause cancer, especially breast cancer. Dioxins are highly poisonous to the cells of our bodies. Don't freeze your plastic bottles with water in them as this releases dioxins from the plastic. Recently, Dr. Edward Fujimoto, Wellness Program Manager at Cast le Hospital, was on a TV program to explain this health hazard. He talked about dioxins and how bad they are for us. He said that we should not be heating our food in the microwave using plastic containers. This especially applies to foods that contain fat. He said that the combination of=2 0fat, high heat, and plastics releases dioxin into the food and ultimately into the cells of the body.. Instead, he recommends using glass, such as Corning Ware, Pyrex or ceramic containers for heating food You get the same results, only without the dioxin. So such things as TV dinners, instant ramen and soups, etc., should be removed from the container and heated in something else. Paper isn't bad but you don't know what is in the paper. It's just safer to use tempered glass, Corning Ware, etc. He reminded us that a while ago some of the fast food restaurants moved away from the foam containers to paper. The dioxin problem is one of the reasons.

Also, he pointed out that plastic wrap, such as Saran, is just as dangerous when placed over foods to be cooked in the microwave. As the food is nuked, the high heat causes poisonous toxins to actually melt out of the plastic wrap and drip into the food. Cover food with a paper towel instead.

This is an article that should be sent to anyone important in your life.

365, meet 289 and 905

Bell Canada has recommended area code 365 be used in a distributed overlay of 289/905.

Linky

Bell Canada has considered the potential NPA Codes to be used to provide relief for NPA 289/905 and proposes that NPA Code 365 be implemented for relief of 289/905 as it would require the minimum quantity of software upgrades to support existing local dialling between NPA 289/905 and its neighbouring NPAs.

In addition, due to the fact that the future demand for CO Codes in NPA 289/905 has been volatile in recent NRUFs and that the 289/905 region has been forecast to exhaust twice in the next 20 year period in both the 2008 and 2009 Annual G-NRUF, it is recommended that NPA Code 367 be reserved for future subsequent relief in the 289/905 region. Alternatively, due to the potential for significant customer confusion if both 365 and 367 are assigned in the same region, NPA Code 742 could be reserved for future relief in the 289/365/905 region which could significantly reduce customer confusion between NPAs with very similar numbers, even though it is not optimal for relief.

In addition, as it is designated as unassignable in both of NPAs 289/905 and 416/647, it is recommended that NPA Code 437 be reserved for future relief in the 416/647 region, if relief of that region is not provided at the same time as relief of NPA 289/905.

I kinda like 365, so I'm happy. I also like the idea of setting aside 367 as well. I can understand using 742 instead, but it doesn't sound as good. So in a few years it'll be 289/365/905.

437 for 416/647? S'all right I guess. Would prefer 474. But I guess we'll see when 416/647 undergoes its relief planning.

Moblog Subdomain Active

So the subdomain I created for my moblog is now functioning. It's http://moblog.dystopium.com. I figured if I was going to have a moblog it might as well have an easy to remember URL. It's still easier to upload pics from my K790 though, and I'm seriously tempted to switch back to Sony Ericsson for easy Blogger integration. Maybe when Sony Ericsson introduces a cameraphone that runs on Android and also has a xenon flash like my K790 does then it'll be time to switch. For now, iPhone it is.

My Brief Flirtation with WordPress

Sometimes it's just easier to start from the beginning, so I shall do that here. This weekend I went up to my friend's cottage. Seeing as I would most likely want to take pictures, I brought my backup phone (my old Sony Ericsson K790). I currently use an iPhone, but the K790's camera is far superior, being 3 megapixels, having autofocus and a flash. So I took some pictures with my K790, and remembered it had a "send to Blogger" feature for pictures. So on my way home on the GO Train I tried it out and sent a bunch to Blogger. At home I quickly and easily associated my K790 posts with my current moblog. And it was super-easy and super-simple. And I just wish my iPhone had the same capability (it can do it, but it takes a lot more work).

So I found out that WordPress has an iPhone app. So I signed up. I couldn't get the name for my blog that I wanted because it was already taken. So I used my regular login name to sign up (danperz). It's not a great name for a blog, but it's something to use for now. Especially since I own DanPerz.com, which at present was redirecting to my Geocities page. But seeing as Yahoo is shutting down Geocities in September permanently, I figured might as well use DanPerz.com with my new WordPress blog (just as I use Dystopium.com with this one). Alas, it was not so simple. To have my WordPress account use DanPerz.com, it'd cost about $10, whereas Blogger does it for free. So at that point I said "thanks, but no thanks" and hit the "delete blog" button. Thankfully, I had yet to make a post, so this wasn't a great sadness. I was more than happy to detail them briefly why I left in the little box provided. I've had Blogger all these years, and it appears I'll be staying here for many more.

Crashing

So last night I had a dream that I was nearby the island airport (YTZ) and the planes there kept crashing into the lake. It's not the first time I've dreamt of planes crashing. And they usually do take place by the water. I was thinking about making note of it until I read the newspapers online as I always do, and saw that there had been a plane crash this morning. That's a little freaky. I also know I dreamt something very similar a couple/few days before the Air France crash. Coincidence? Who knows. Still pretty scary though! One thing is for certain. If I have that kind of dream, I won't be flying soon after!

Welcome to the Club, Maine!

So I read today that the governor of Maine signed a same-sex marriage bill today (). First, props to Gov. John Baldacci for doing the right thing. Originally he was against same-sex marriage, but he came to the realization that it was the only solution that brought about equality for all. There is a chance that this piece of legislation could be over-ridden by a "people's veto", so they're a tentative #5 for now. Regardless though, let's count our eggs before they hatch: Massachusetts, Iowa, Vermont, Connecticut and Maine. Almost all of New England! Andy always said that New England is as progressive as Canada. It seems he may be right! Now we just need New Hampshire and Rhode Island to have gay marriage in all of New England.

Affected/Infected Dream

So last night I had a dream about a certain someone. It was kind of a weird dream. I don't remember all of it anymore. But I do remember being at this certain someone's place. I remember it wasn't big. But it was his own. And for some reason we were back together. I was surprised that we'd gotten back together. But I was happy. I don't remember too much actual contact with him. Nevertheless I know we were together again. I was somewhat suspicious. I just didn't know why he'd want to get back together with me after hating me all these years. So I remember just kinda glancing at his desk. I don't know where he was at the time. Regardless, I recall seeing some kind of medical report, or test results, or something. And I remember on it, it said he had like gonorrhea, chlamydia, herpes. But the one that stuck out was HIV. I don't remember exactly seeing it on the list, but I know it was there, because when I realized that he had HIV, I felt extremely sorry for him. I was sad. I didn't want him to die. I wanted us to enjoy the time we still had together. (Regardless of the fact that these days HIV is not a death sentence). But then I got angry, because I realized (or at least I thought I realized) that he had gotten back together with me just to infect me because he was still angry with me. And that's as far as my feelings in the dream went. I think after I woke up, I started to think that maybe he actually just wanted to spend his last days with me, which would be kinda romantic. So when I considered that, I felt sympathy for him again. Of course this is all just speculative because it was all just a dream after all. But it bothers me that I'm having these feelings again.
